How do I become a CSPEPA Member?

In order to become a member, you will need to fill out the application and the application direct deposit form. The monthly fee associated with being a member will be withdrawn from your paycheck.


How Much Does the membership Cost?

The membership fees will be directly withdrawn from your state paycheck each month. For peace officers the fee is $41 per month, for Non-Certified Civilian Membership the fee is $31 per month.

What are the benefits of being a member?

  • Retirement Benefit – Members in good standing will earn $50 per consecutive year of membership, starting from and including the year they were accepted as a member of CSPEPA.  The maximum retirement benefit from CSPEPA is $500.  Members are eligible to claim their benefit up to a year from their last day of service.
  • Legal Defense – Members in good standing will be eligible for legal defense as provided by the legal defense fund.  CSPEPA has partnered with well respected law firm Bruno, Colin & Lowe to provide legal coverage for instances such as duty related administrative disciplinary actions, duty related civil actions, duty related criminal actions, duty related traffic offenses and duty related critical incidents.
  • Awards – Members can nominate anyone for one of the following awards: Merit, Honor, Valor, and Lifesaving
  • Park Law Enforcement Association (PLEA) Accidental Death and Dismemberment Benefit – CSPEPA has a group membership in PLEA.  Every member of CSPEPA is eligible for a $2,500 benefit for accidental death and dismemberment.
